With Love...

Due to the cold weather, my skin has been in need of a little TLC lately. I’m a BIG fan of Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub (for only $6, you can’t go wrong), but being the DIYer that I am, I enjoy making my own scrub every now and then. Here’s the recipe that I like to use.
- 1/2 cup of sweet/pure almond oil (to relieve skin irritation; to soothe and soften skin - plus it smells great) OR extra virgin olive oil (anti-inflammatory and moisturizer)
- 1/2 cup of organic sea salt (you can use Epsom salt instead, but I prefer sea salt); NOT table salt
- A few drops of an essential oil of your choice. I like to add about 17 drops in order to make it a bit more potent. Here are a few examples:
lavender, vanilla - relaxation and stress relief
lemon, peppermint - refresh and stimulation
- Optional: half a lemon (to help treat scars); sometimes I’ll add this if I’m using a lavender or citrus scent
Store in a pretty jar and you are all set ♥
